This page contains study materials for students of AE2M99MAM - Microprocessors and microcomputers. Seminar starts at 16:15.

English pages on this wiki

English material will be added to this wiki before each seminar, however feel free to read whatever you want, even now. This year is a first year of extensive use of this wiki for English speaking students so there are not many pages in English yet - but there will be, soon.

Using other parts of this wiki

Many links at this site point to English documents and many code examples and command line examples are also usable for English speaking students. If you miss specific information in English, please take a look at links and examples at some of these wiki pages.

Personal pages

Every student has personal page on this wiki. Access rights are granted on the first seminar. You are welcome to provide some info about yourself if you want (full name at least). Personal page is also good place for your notes from seminars (how to do this or that...).

Other pages

You are free to edit anything you want on this wiki. Fixing errors will help others, for sure. Adding small or bigger missing pieces of information helps as well. Perhaps creating new pages needs some more thoughts - please think twice what is a good name for the page. Fixing contents is much easier than fixing links to renamed pages.

Examples of semestral projects

To get some rough idea about projects finished by the Czech students, you can quickly look at their pages - thera are many pictures, schematics and snippets of C and assembler.

Here are examples of English student projects last year:

Connect 64 kilobytes external RAM to AVR microprocessor and implement memcpy() function able to copy between internal RAM and external RAM. Count number of cycles needed to copy 128 bytes block.

  1. Use ATmega128 and dedicated XMEM interface
  2. Use ATmega88 and 8 bits of general IO pins as a bus, multiplex data and two halves of address on these
  3. Use ATmega88 and 16 bits of general IO pins as a bus, emulate XMEM-like interface by software
